Well, after alot of research, thinking, advice, etc, I have finally decided on what oil and filter I am going to use in the Javelin. Initially, I was leaning towards Royal Purple, but I really did not want to put a synthetic oil in a car that had always had conventional oils. I have chosen Valvoline VR1 Racing Oil SAE 30wt for the old Javelin. I wanted the one weight 30, instead of a 10w30. The engine in the Javelin is basically stock, and in no way a racing engine, but the Valvoline has the right amount of ZDDP for the flat tappet design. Regarding the oil filter, I selected NAPA Gold 1258....
